We are located about 20 miles North of Huntsville Alabama in Taft, Tennessee, on about 39 Acres of gently rolling land. We purchased our farm in the spring of 2003 after looking for the right place to retire for over three years.

Our goal for the farm and our alpaca business is to provide us a reason to get out of the house during retirement so we don't stagnate. Our plan was to breed quality alpacas until we had 20 alpacas with champion and deversified blood lines that would produce outstanding alpacas and other products for our clients and customers. With 7 years of experience we can provide our customers with the best animals and support available at a reasonable cost.

We believe that having  started out with only 4 animals we are better able to understand the support needed by new farms. We had little experience in the raising of herd animals or the kind of facilities required therefore we have gradually built up our facilities for supporting our Alpacas. To us the sharing of our experience and knowledge with our customers will increase their probatility for success and our personal experience will limit the required capital outlay in the early years of your business.

Below you will fince some  quetions that we asked  initially and believe woudl be an excellant start if you are considering entering the business. We suggest that you ask each farm these quesitons to get an overview of how they started then make your decision.

1) What does it cost to get into the Alpaca business?

2) How much can I expect to make in the alpaca Farming business.

3) What fencing is suitable for alpacas?

4) What training is important?

5) What kind of facilities do I need?

6) How much land should I expect to need?
